What does a website cost in Switzerland?

A website builder takes your own time and, depending on the plan, a subscription. Prices from freelancers, studios and agencies depend on the agreed scope. My websites start from CHF 1,490. What sets the price, and what comes after launch, is below.

Overview

Three routes to a website, compared.

The range is wide because very different things are called a website. The table places the three usual routes roughly. It does not replace a quote, but it helps you read quotes correctly.

Price drivers

What drives the price of a website.

Two websites with the same number of pages can cost very different amounts. What decides it is how much work goes into structure, content and technology.

  • The number of pages the website actually needs
  • Copy: is existing text refined, or is new text written?
  • Photographs: is usable material there, or does it need creating?
  • Languages: a second language does not double the price, but it does double the care
  • Features: reservations, booking, additional forms, a shop
  • For a redesign: the state, content and technology of the existing website

After launch

Running costs after launch.

A website keeps costing something after launch. When you compare quotes, include these items, because they are not always in the first offer.

  • Domain: check annual fees and renewal prices with your provider
  • Hosting: from free tiers for small websites to monthly fees for larger ones
  • Licences: paid fonts, plugins or tools, if used
  • Upkeep: updates, new content, technical maintenance, done yourself or by agreement

My prices, published.

My prices are on the website: Presence from CHF 1,490 for a one-page website, Business from CHF 2,900 for up to six pages, Signature from CHF 4,900 for up to ten pages, Redesign from CHF 2,200 and Website Care from CHF 149 per month. Add-ons such as a second language from CHF 650 or an additional page from CHF 300 are published as well.

After the discovery call the starting price becomes a fixed price, in writing and before work begins. 50% is due as a deposit and the rest before launch. Everything else is on Services & Pricing.

Comparing

How to compare quotes.

The lowest price is rarely the best value. Ask every provider the same questions, and the quotes become comparable.

  • How many pages and how many revision rounds are included?
  • Who writes or refines the copy?
  • Does the website belong to you afterwards, with domain and access?
  • What do domain, hosting and licences cost per year?
  • Who is reachable after launch, and on what terms?
  • What is explicitly not included?

Questions about website costs.

Why do prices vary so much?

Because very different things are called a website: from a template you fill in yourself to a custom website with strategy, copy and tested technology. Compare what is included, not only the amount.

What is the least expensive website with you?

Presence starts from CHF 1,490: a custom one-page website with a discovery call, copy refinement, contact form, basic SEO setup and two revision rounds.

Are there hidden costs?

Domains, hosting, licences and paid fonts are charged separately unless a quote includes them. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted before it begins; nothing appears on an invoice that was not agreed first.

Is a website builder worth it?

For some businesses, yes, where there is time and an eye for design. When the website has to win guests or customers and look like your business, we can assess whether a custom website fits your goals and budget.

How does payment work?

50% deposit before work begins and the remaining 50% before launch or final handover.

What would your website cost?

Describe your business and what the website needs to do. You will get an honest view of scope and price. Or have your current website assessed first, with no obligation.
